Vaccines to prevent COVID-19 are being administered to more people every day, and that’s good news. But, here at Pasco-Hernando Foot & Ankle, we know many of our Nature Coast patients may still have some reservations about coming to our Hudson office (727-868-2128 or 352-683-5799) for routine care, check-ups, and treatment. We want to reassure our patients we follow all the CDC guidance to ensure you and our staff are protected as much as possible. Below are seven steps we are taking to keep you safe:

  1. We will always maintain our friendly attitude with all our patients, but neither our podiatrist, Dr. Lawrence J. Kales, nor any other staff members will shake your hand at this time.

  2. We strictly prohibit all patients and staff from coming into the office if any symptoms of COVID or other illness are present.

  3. We will take the temperature of all patients before the appointment begins.  If you are running a fever, you will need to reschedule.

  4. If you believe you came in contact with anyone who has tested positive or if you or a family member have been on a cruise or traveled outside the U.S. in the last two weeks, you will need to reschedule your appointment for a later date.

  5. We request you come alone to your appointment or be accompanied only by your caregiver if needed. It will decrease the number of people in our office and allow for easier social distancing.

  6. Hand sanitizer will be available when you enter the office.

  7. We will continue to maintain our usual protocol of sanitizing items and surfaces frequently throughout the day.

It’s essential if you have diabetes you keep all appointments for routine toenail and other care and especially if you are receiving wound care. In nearly all cases, delaying seeking or getting treatment for acute and chronic foot problems will result in serious consequences, including increased pain, disability, and the need for more aggressive treatments. If you have concerns about coming into the office, contact us to discuss them.
